Getting Your Message Across—Both in English and in German
Translating is notoriously underestimated. Requirements are substantial: You need a feel for subtleties, a good understanding of the context, you need to be familiar with readers’ culture—and, last but not least: you need writing skills. Also, messages between the lines may be just as significant as the written word.
Use my skills for your publications. I combine linguistic expertise with decades of editing experience in German and English, a penchant for perfectionism, and a passion for persuasive writing.
What I Offer
The translations I provide are both on point and well written—skillfully narrated, fluent, polished, and a pleasure to read. “Better than my original text,” a renowned author commented on my translation of his book. What better feedback could I wish for?
How I Work
Skillful translating usually requires asking the occasional clarifying question. So, access to a content owner is essential in most cases.
A word on automated translation: I do use AI occasionally, provided the material is non-confidential. It can be helpful in the initial, rought-draft stage. Building on that is where the actual work begins—the part that requires true expertise and creativity.
What I Specialize In
My specialties are texts for journalism and PR—mainly articles, books, interviews, press releases, whitepapers and project/industry reports. I’m also happy to do film scripts.
And should you wish to have your existing translations reviewed and optimized, you’ve found just the right person.
